The 2nd generation Simatic HMI Basic Panels are available with a screen diagonal of 4 to 12 inches and are designed for entry-level fully graphical operation and monitoring. They have a USB interface for a mouse, keyboard, barcode scanner or USB stick - for archiving purposes, for example. Profinet and Profibus DP interfaces enable integration into the automation network. As with all Simatic HMI panels, software functions such as message system, recipe management, curve functionality and language switching are integrated as standard. As requirements increase, the projects created for a Basic Panel can be easily transferred to devices in other performance classes or display sizes.
