The engineering framework "Totally Integrated Automation Portal" (TIA Portal) has been expanded in several functional areas with the upcoming version 13. These include improvements in the diagnostics concept (for example, for the automatic detection of errors on distributed I/O devices), in terms of know-how protection and synchronized collaboration in larger team projects. The functions of several engineering tools have also been expanded as part of TIA Portals V13: the WinCC V13 HMI software is now also suitable for the new generation of Basic Panels. The user interface has also been updated, for example with diagrams, buttons and display elements. The G110M inverter family, which is characterized by a drive and motor in one device, is now also integrated in Sinamics Startdrive V13 and can therefore be configured in the TIA Portal. Last but not least, Step 7 V13 has been expanded to include engineering for the new Simatic S7-1500 controllers CPU 1515-2 PN and CPU 1518-4 PN/DP.
