Another new product is an RFID solution for identifying and managing tools for machine tools. The solution includes the particularly small MDS D117 and MDS D127 transponders for flush mounting in metal. They can be used, for example, to store the identification number, plain text designation, measurement data and remaining service life of the respective tool. The solution also includes the compact Simatic RF250R stationary reader and the Simatic RF310M mobile handheld reader. Both readers are designed for the connection of external antennas such as the ANT8. Thanks to its M8 design with a length of just 40 millimetres, this antenna can also be installed in confined spaces, such as directly in the tool magazine.
