Excellent: The pressure sensor from ZIM Plant Technology has the potential to tackle a global problem: The scarcity of water and salinization of cultivated areas as a result of incorrect irrigation. For the first time, the ZIM pressure sensor (at the end of the red pipes) makes it possible to determine the actual water requirements of plants. Attached by magnet to any type of leaf, the pressure probe records the so-called turgor pressure in the leaf, which is a measure of the current "thirst" of a plant. The data from several sensors is sent wirelessly via transmitters and a controller station via GSM to the control center, where it is processed and interpreted. The integration of the sensor technology into automatic irrigation systems is currently underway. Cooperation is welcome!
