With the IO-Link box modules with IP67 protection from Beckhoff, sensors can be connected decentrally in the field via sensor cables and their data passed on to an IO-Link communication system. A total of 28 module variants are available in plastic or die-cast zinc housings. Up to now, a maximum of four IO-Link devices could be integrated via an IO-Link master (Ethercat box "EP6224" or Ethercat terminal "EL6624" or the bus terminal "KL6624"). If such a master is available, the IO-Link box modules can now be used to connect additional sensor signals decentrally in the field and via a simple sensor cable. The box modules enable the connection of binary and complex sensors and actuators. The connection between the modules and the respective IO-Link master is made via an M12 connection cable (port class A). For modules with increased power consumption, an additional voltage supply can be provided (Port Class B). The modules are designed in accordance with IO-Link specification V1.1; the range of the point-to-point connection is 20 m in accordance with the specification.
