They are designed to clean offices and dispose of paper: robots for commercial cleaning. Scientists at Fraunhofer IPA developed the necessary software components for this in the joint project 'Plug & Play for Automation Systems' - 'AutoPnP' for short. The hardware basis is a further development of the mobile robot assistant 'Care-O-bot 3', whose actual field of application lies in domestic support. Based on algorithms for classifying objects, the robot can recognize waste bins, which it grabs with its arm and empties into a collection container.
