The project called "eLDERmon" by New Zealander Mark Beckett, the winner of the community vote, uses battery-free wireless sensors and the Raspberry Pi to detect movement, temperature, humidity and brightness. The system is designed to enable older people who live alone at home or people with special care needs to live more safely and comfortably in their own four walls. As the winner of the Community Choice Award, Beckett will receive an EnOcean EDK 350 Developer Kit.
