DSM Computer has added a system with integrated 2 GByte RAM and 7.2 GByte flash to its compact H1-A top-hat rail PC family. The RAM memory offers the option of installing the Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded and POSReady 7 operating systems. A large amount of user data can be stored on the 7.2 GB flash. The top-hat rail PC H1-A with a height of 90 mm and a depth of 41 mm (55 mm with cooling fins) can be quickly installed in an electrical or control cabinet thanks to its standardized mounting option. With a width of 124 mm (7 HP), the industrial computer fits under the standard DIN rail cover. In addition to two fast 1000-Base-T-LAN connections, it offers two USB 2.0 ports and a serial RS-232 interface. Like the 24 V (DC) power supply, the two electrically isolated RS-485 ports are implemented via a plug with insulation displacement connection. A control monitor can be connected to the VGA interface for commissioning and maintenance purposes. The core of the DIN rail PC is a Qseven module that integrates the energy-saving Intel Atom processor Z530 (1.6 GHz) and the 'Intel US15W SCH System Controller Hub' with 'Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 500'. The 70 mm × 70 mm module is connected directly to the computer housing for heat dissipation.
