The SFB-PN-IRT-8M12-IOP safety field box from Schmersal for Profinet/Profisafe systems is suitable for the plug & play installation of a maximum of eight safety switching devices.Thanks to the universal device interface with 8-pin M12 connector, various safety switching devices can be connected - electromechanical and electronic solenoid interlocks, switches, sensors, light curtains and control panels. Safety switching devices from other manufacturers can also be connected via adapters. The safety signals from the safety switching devices are forwarded to a safety controller for evaluation via the safe Profinet/Profisafe fieldbus interface. The parallel transmission of the safety signals makes it possible to freely link the safety switching devices in the F control system. In addition, the device connections of the field box can be configured for the connection of different devices, which enables the flexible design of safety solutions. All device connections are equipped with a self-resetting fuse element for line protection. After eliminating the overload on a connection, the fuse element resets itself after a short cooling phase.
