To solve applications with safe drive monitoring and/or high time requirements in an Ethercat environment simply and transparently, BBH Products offers the extended SCU series. The FSoE master types in this series include safe logic processing of input, output, status and activation signals as well as a complete set of drive monitoring functions. With profiles specifically adapted to inverter types/manufacturers, the safety functions integrated in the inverter can not only be activated and their status processed, but also parameterized centrally. If the inverter delivers a safe position and speed, an optional kinematics module can also be used to link positions and speeds calculated across several axes with the monitoring functions and thus implement tool center point monitoring, for example. Distributed axis information, such as a motor feedback signal and a distance encoder, can also be combined. A fast channel task with a guaranteed processing time of 4 ms has been integrated to ensure a fast response to the interruption of a light curtain, for example. Profisafe and an FSoE slave stack to support top-down architectures are also newly integrated in the FSoE master.
