With Smart Display Link 3, B&R is launching a new generation of its proprietary technology for digital display transmission. The current version enables a distance of 100 m between PC and panel. Previously, this technology enabled customers to operate HMI devices at a distance of up to 40 m. All communication channels are transmitted via a standard Ethernet cable. On the one hand, this reduces cable costs for longer distances, and on the other hand, the slim cables with RJ45 connectors are suitable for tight spaces in feed-throughs and support arm systems. The graphics are transmitted directly from the PC system to the panel and do not have to be processed via an additional PC architecture in the panel. Smart Display Link 3 can be used regardless of the operating system used and can be used with all 'Automation Panels' thanks to its modular design.
