With the PKE-XTU...CP trip blocks, Eaton is expanding its range of electronic motor-protective circuit-breakers 'PKE'. Thanks to this extension, users can quickly convert an existing PKE basic device into a circuit-breaker in accordance with IEC 60947-2 for the protection of cables and lines. The modular system consists of the basic device and a trip block that can be plugged on without tools, so that changes to the switch can also be made at a later date. The trip blocks are available in two versions, 'Standard' and 'Extended', whereby the 'Extended' models allow the PKE circuit-breaker to be connected to the SmartWire-DT connection system with the aid of the 'PKE-SWD-CP' functional element. This results in a communication solution for monitoring the circuit-breaker and the loads to be protected in the power distribution system. Both versions of the trip blocks are available in the current ranges 15 to 36 A and 30 to 65 A in widths of 45 mm and 55 mm respectively. The short-circuit breaking capacity is 50 kA/ 400 V.
