The "Skived Fin" heat sinks from CTX Thermal Solutions are particularly suitable for IPCs with small housings that require compact solutions with a particularly high cooling effect. With the so-called "Skived Fin" heat sinks, the cooling fins are scraped out of an aluminum or copper block. This special production technique allows particularly fine fins and a high fin density. In addition, the individual fins are seamlessly connected to the heat sink base using this manufacturing method - without the thermal resistance that inevitably occurs with soldered, glued or pressed connections. Due to their high cooling effect, "Skived Fin" heat sinks are primarily used as CPU coolers in server systems - usually as an active cooling solution in combination with system fans that ensure a forced airflow.
