Koco Motion offers the Lexium MDrive (LMD) stepper motors from Schneider Electric with a multiturn absolute encoder. The integrated multiturn absolute encoder function with a line count of 1000 provides users with a fully-fledged servo system based on the advantages of a stepper motor positioning drive with absolute path measurement. Protection classes up to IP67 enable use even in harsh environments. The rotary and linear stepper motors are available in NEMA sizes 17 (42 mm) and 23 (57 mm). Nema 34 motors (86 mm) will also be equipped with absolute encoders in the future. LMD drives with absolute encoders record and store position data even when switched off, which eliminates the need for reference runs after the controller has been switched off. The motors can be operated in various modes: in a closed control loop, via torque control and variable current control for energy savings as well as with reduced heating. Ethernet/IP, Profinet, ModbusTCP, CANopen and RS422/485 are available for network capability.
