The recovery is coming faster than initially thought: In February, the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) was still forecasting zero growth in production. However, after the economy as a whole grew significantly in the second quarter, the association initially raised its production forecast to 3% in July, only to increase it to 6% just three months later. For 2011, the VDMA is forecasting 8% production growth.
