Exploiting natural gas sites in the deep sea has so far been very complex and expensive. This is because further processing of the fossil raw material takes place on the surface, either on land or on platforms. Researchers are therefore working hard to develop new technologies that can be used directly on the seabed. Dr. Ralf Bode has created an important prerequisite for this with his invention of hermetically sealing a compressor and drive and thus integrating it without any seals.
