In industry, the trend is towards so-called dual or multi-core computers, on which two or more processors execute programs in parallel. However, unlike office computers, the programs in automation control systems must be executed at precisely specified time intervals of a few microseconds. Until now, this could not be guaranteed with distributed computing on two cores. Dr. René Graf has developed a process that acts as a kind of gatekeeper and guarantees that the time-critical program sections are executed precisely.
