The DKM60R series micro photoelectric sensor from STM is part of the 'Micromote' product range. The manufacturer cites the size of the sensor, which is housed in a cylindrical M6 housing, as the most striking difference to commercially available lasers. The sensor is connected to the separate amplifier electronics via a highly flexible cable, so that convenient operation and good readability of the electronics remain possible. The micro-optics of the transmitter are tuned in such a way that a circular laser beam with a diameter of 0.6 mm and a residual divergence of 2 mrad is generated. The sensor therefore has no distinct focus range; the same resolution is achieved at any point between the transmitter and receiver. Despite a range of over 4 m, the output power remains below 0.4 mW; the device is classified as a class 1 laser product.
