The
OS32C safety laser scanner with dimensions of 133 mm × 143 mm × 105 mm is the most compact device in the world, according to manufacturer Omron. It weighs 1.3 kg, has a power consumption of 5 W (standby 3.75 W) and offers a safety zone of maximum 3 m and two warning zones of maximum 10 m. With a detection angle of up to 270°, two sides are covered with just one scanner. The Ethernet-compliant safety laser scanner enables users to check the operating status even in extensive applications with multiple scanners via LAN and to analyze the reason for a safe shutdown. System status, zone status and measurement data can be transmitted via Ethernet/IP. This means that the device can also be used for navigation. The scanner complies with PL d in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL 2 in accordance with EN 61508 and is suitable for applications in automated guided vehicles (AGVs), for example. In complex AGV applications, up to 70 combinations can be set up, each with one safety zone and two warning zones. Both warning zones can be configured to fulfill different tasks such as warning tone and speed control. Eight LED sector indicators signal the intrusion or presence of objects in the warning or protective field. The display on the front provides information on the operating status and error codes.
