Micronas is now launching its 3D HAL sensor families in the TO92UP housing with a 29 mm² housing surface. Initially, the HAL 36xy and HAL 38xy sensor families for extended linear displacement and angle measurement will be launched on the market. The sensors for multi-dimensional magnetic field measurement are used in automotive electronics, e.g. for determining throttle valve positions with angles of over 90 degrees. The 4-pin TO92UP housing made of non-ferromagnetic material was developed at Micronas in Freiburg and has legs that are 5 mm longer than the usual TO92 housing shape. The plastic head is 1.5 mm flat. The weldable and solderable housing is suitable for applications in the high temperature range up to 160 °C.
