The E°EXC 880 E°CUT Eco compact controller from Eckelmann is suitable for controlling CNC cutting machines. To this end, the developers have combined an application-optimized CNC controller with frequently required I/O functions on one platform. Pre-installed technology packages are available for plasma, oxyfuel and laser. The serial interface supports the integration of standard plasma power sources. In addition, the supplier's CNC-integrated distance control is available; however, it is also possible to connect an external distance control serially or directly via a digital interface. The company's 'Cutting HMI' is installed and the CAD/CAM postprocessor (cncCUT) can be set up if required. The controller supports the following cutting head configurations: one to two plasma cutting heads with internal or external distance control, one to four oxyfuel cutting heads with proportional valves, one laser cutting head with analog power control as well as one plasma and one to three oxyfuel cutting heads. The control system was limited to four interpolating axes. In total, the controller can control a maximum of six CNC axes. The drive technology can be integrated via Ethercat or CANopen.
