The Codesys Depictor from 3S supplements the 'Codesys Development System' with an additional interface for the three-dimensional animation of IEC 61131-3 applications. The add-on allows functional dependencies to be visualized without leaving the IEC 61131-3 development interface. Complex 3D elements from CAD tools, for example in Collada format, are imported into the add-on and used in it. Without any additional drawing work, users can visually depict the application sequence according to the design drawings. The "Depictor" also offers the option of assembling machines or machine parts from spatially configurable standard elements. So-called poses describe the spatial position and orientation of these elements depending on machine states. To realize the 3D animation, one or more spatial transformations can be assigned to each pose: Displacements (translations), rotations and scaling in all spatial axes are available for selection. Thanks to the direct link with the IEC 61131-3 program, the 3D view shows exactly the sequence that the application is currently executing - even before the first test on a real machine or system.
