The current generation of the Goldeye infrared camera series from Allied Vision for the SWIR spectral range (short-wave infrared) is sensitive to infrared radiation between 900 and 1700 nm thanks to the InGaAs sensor. It has active cooling with a built-in Peltier module (Thermo-Electric Cooling). Cooling the sensor by up to 30 K ensures a reduction in dark current and low-noise images. Special image optimization algorithms for the correction of defect pixels and InGaAs-typical inhomogeneity ensure high image quality. With additional functions such as exposure time control, analog and digital gain and look-up tables to increase contrast, the user can adjust the image quality to suit their needs. The sensor cooling is integrated in the housing and does not require a fan. The Gigabit Ethernet interface complies with the industrial GigE Vision standard and supports Power over Ethernet: One cable is sufficient to transmit the image data over up to 100 m and to supply the camera with power. The operating temperature range of the housing extends from -20 to +50 °C.
