VRmagic is expanding its range of intelligent multi-sensor cameras and offers solutions for applications in the fields of 3D metrology, 360-degree inspection and tracking applications. Up to six external sensors can be connected to a Linux-based camera of the D3 camera generation via foil cables with LVDS transmission. The sensors can be freely positioned and provide pixel-synchronous images from different angles. The image data is coordinated on an F3 FPGA module with 1 Gbyte RAM. The intelligent camera platform "D3" has a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 RISC-MPU with Floating Point Unit (FPU) running Ubuntu Linux and a 700 MHz C674x VLIW DSP with FPU as co-processor. The memory available is 2 Gbyte DDR3-800 RAM and 32 Gbyte Flash on board. The multi-sensor camera is available with the MT9V024 and AR0134 CMOS sensors from Aptina. The 1/3-inch sensors have a resolution of 754 x 480 and 1280 x 960 pixels respectively.
