Compared to previous motion controllers in Yaskawa's MP2000iec series, the new MP2310iec also offers three free slots for option modules. In conjunction with multitasking functions, this enables the control and monitoring of more complex functions in a branched automation environment. For example, the controller can be expanded with communication modules to higher-level controllers (Siemens) or to different bus systems as well as with additional counter, I/O or positioning modules. As an all-in-one machine controller, the MP2310iec combines the sequence control of a PLC with various motion control functions on a single platform. This includes multi-axis positioning, speed and torque control as well as angular synchronization and electronic cam control. Programming is based on IEC 61131-3; with the MotionWorks IEC development environment, the manufacturer also provides a large number of PLCopen modules for project planning and programming. Communication - for example to the HMI - takes place via the standard Ethernet/IP (100 Mbps) and Modbus TCP/IP protocols. Linear and rotary axes can be connected via the integrated Mechatrolink-II high-speed bus. The built-in web server ensures fast and convenient diagnostics. It eliminates the need for special software for remote maintenance.
