Seamlessly integrated into the AC500 automation platform, existing AC500 solutions can achieve a safety level up to SIL 3 or PLe by plugging in the certified safety modules and linking the safety program with the existing user program. The programming of the safety functions under Codesys is unique to date: in addition to the ladder diagram and function block diagram, the ST programming language can also be used. Thanks to functions such as Sin, Cos, Tan, Sqrt, Asin, Acos, Atan and Log, even complex safety calculations can be implemented, for example work area and anti-collision monitoring of machines. A patented procedure for checking the user program using a source code checker simplifies TÜV approval of the application. Decentralized safety and standard modules can also be used via Profinet with Profisafe. Corresponding safety I/O modules are also available with safe analog inputs.
