The
Ixxat Econ 100 is a universally applicable, ARM-based platform for the DIN rail with a Linux operating system, which already has four Ethernet, two CAN and two USB interfaces in the standard version. For the implementation of Ethercat and CANopen master applications as well as Powerlink management nodes, the manufacturer Ixxat offers special application development kits which, in addition to a board support package, contain the respective master software pre-installed on an SD card as well as the Linux operating system. For Ethercat, the protocol software from acontis for Ethercat Master Class A and B is used. Thanks to the specially optimized link layer, the platform enables cycle times of less than 1 ms. Powerlink was implemented based on the Ixxat Powerlink master/slave software. Thanks to integrated hub logic, the managing node implementation also supports the line topology typical of Powerlink. By combining the various master software packages, control systems for heterogeneous systems with CAN-open, Ethercat or Powerlink can be implemented. In addition to the interfaces available in the basic version, customer-specific interfaces or functional expansions such as digital and analog I/Os (DVI output) can be implemented via the expansion slots and via an FPGA available on the hardware.
