In order to migrate existing systems to new systems, Hima Paul Hildebrandt has created a migration path with Hipro-S V2: The protocol enables Ethernet-based, safety-oriented communication (SIL3) between the three controller families 'Himatrix', 'Himax' and 'Hiquad'. The update to 'Hipro-S V2' can be carried out step by step; no new hardware or communication infrastructure is required for the modernization or extensions. This accelerated commissioning ensures that the system can be restarted quickly and reduces the risk of delays. The protocol does not require a separate certificate, but is covered as part of the three control systems with their certificate. If a connection is interrupted, it is automatically re-established. Like 'Safeethernet', the protocol uses UDP packets that can be transmitted via standard Ethernet infrastructure components such as switches, firewalls, WLANs or Ex-zone-compatible devices.
