The Digsy Fusion S safety controller from Inter Control fulfills the current safety requirements with PL d, CAT 3 in accordance with EN ISO 13849. With scalability from 48 to a maximum of 240 I/Os, a wide range of vehicles can be automated consistently and economically on the basis of a single control system. A high number of safe inputs means that the requirements of redundant sensors in particular can be met. The long life cycle of mobile machines inevitably makes it necessary to adapt machines to changing market requirements once they have been developed. The safety controller supports this by allowing two programs to be processed in parallel in one controller. The first program (safe program) is responsible for the safe functions, while the second program (standard program) processes comfort functions, for example. As the performance of a safety controller must not be impaired by internal tests and diagnostics, there is redundancy between the two 32-bit CPUs working in lock-step mode. In addition, complex trigonometric calculations are made possible by a redundant FPU. The redundant CPU and FPU are managed internally and are not visible to the user. The controller has Ethernet and USB interfaces. Four CANbus interfaces are available for communication with nodes, sensors or other controllers. These can be used with the prepared protocols CANopen, CANopen Safety, J1939 or proprietary protocols. The current version Codesys 3.5 SIL2 supports the programmer in particular when implementing safety-related functions.
