Agile Robots takes over Idealworks completely
Agile Robots has acquired the remaining shares in the BMW Group spin-off Idealworks and now holds 100%. The BMW Group remains a partner. The aim is to expand the area of industrial automation and make wider use of AI-supported robotics.
Idealworks has built a robotics ecosystem that includes the automation platform AnyFleet, the simulation software iw.sim and the autonomous mobile robot iw.hub. More than 850 iw.hubs are in use in BMW production facilities worldwide. In addition, a growing number of customers from manufacturing, logistics and warehousing are using the solutions.
With the acquisition, both companies aim to expand their position in the industrial automation market and accelerate the spread of AI-supported robotics.
