Spur gears for glass production
Working in partnership with a customer in the mechanical engineering sector who specializes in glass production, SPN Schwaben Präzision has developed a spur gearbox that is tailored to the specific requirements of float glass systems.
The special feature of flat glass production is that the glass is manufactured in a continuous process. The molten glass is continuously fed onto a bath of liquid tin. The drive developed for the roller conveyor is so universally designed that it can be used throughout the entire conveyor chain. Its compact design allows it to be mounted directly on the conveyor roller below the glass mass to be transported; the use of additional components for fixing is not necessary.
According to the supplier, a clamping connection for fastening ensures maximum protection of the drive torque. The spur gear is protected against the ingress of glass dust and can be installed both horizontally and vertically.
