Weld-proof sensors with remote monitoring function

Contrinex inductive Weld-Immune sensors are coated with a durable, anti-adhesive 'Activestone' ceramic coating that allows weld spatter to slide right off the surface.

In the automotive industry, the sensors detect the position of the sheets to be joined with switching distances of up to 16 mm. The ceramic coating was specially developed for use in MIG, MAG and spot welding applications. Its non-stick, abrasion-resistant surface prevents spatter accumulation and simplifies sensor maintenance. Activestone is insensitive to thermal and mechanical stresses. The weld-resistant inductive sensors also have a one-piece stainless steel housing (V2A / AISI 303) and therefore resist magnetic interference from medium-frequency welding fields (current up to 15 kA) and are extremely shock-resistant. The temperature of the sensors can be monitored via IO-Link - an alarm is generated if a predefined threshold value is exceeded. IO-Link also provides access to the output switching function, the LED function and a counter with threshold value alarm.
