This remark from a visitor in the aisles of the Hannover Messe many years ago gave Renate Pilz the confidence that all would be well, that the company had arrived in the automation industry. After all, it all started as a glass-blowing business: in the 1940s, the family company produced glass tubes for medical use, among other things.
Today, it is impossible to imagine the world of automation without Pilz. The PNOZ controller series is one of the best-selling in the world, and the Hannover Messe has a special significance for the Pilz family, where the company presented numerous innovations. Pilz presents a selection of the most important developments on a timeline on its stand, quite a few of which were presented for the first time at the Hannover Messe. So it's no wonder that Pilz is using the industry show to celebrate its anniversary with employees, customers and long-standing companions.
Dr. Jochen Köckler, Deutsche Messe, congratulates the family and employees on the company's 75th anniversary.

She talked about the beginnings, the challenges that the family and employees had to face, thanked the employees, without whom the company would not be so successful, and was delighted that her children, Susanne Kunschert and Thomas Pilz, are continuing to run the company. She had handed over the reins five years ago. Trade fair boss Jochen Köckler also came to congratulate them. He emphasized the warmth of the family, which also gave him confidence at the beginning of his time at Deutsche Messe in Hanover.
As a sign of solidarity, Pilz and Deutsche Messe have planted a pear tree on the exhibition grounds. With the words "This is the best pear in the world", Susanne Kunschert handed over the tree of the "Stuttgarter Gaishirtle" variety to the trade fair boss. On Wednesday, the tree was planted by Renate Pilz, Susanne Kunschert, Jochen Köckler and his wife Britta on the exhibition grounds in bright sunshine. It is the first of a total of 75 trees that the family-owned company will be planting throughout the year as part of the anniversary celebrations as a symbol of sustainability and growth worldwide.
