Grossenbacher systems at the SPS 2025

Inka Krischke,

Faster to CRA compliance

Grossenbacher is responding to the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and is expanding the 'Universal Controller' as well as the smart and web panels with future-oriented software modules based on Linux/Yocto and, if required, with support for TMP chips (Trusted Platform Module).

Users of the modular system also receive support for a product-specific threat and risk analysis (TARA). As a structured risk analysis (e.g. in accordance with IEC 62443), the latter is a mandatory and strategically indispensable basic element for achieving CRA conformity. In addition, the hardware and software toolbox offers a wide range of tools for the individual development of CRA-compliant, cyber-secure controllers according to security-by-design principles, including for secure boot, role-based access concepts, update mechanisms and secure hardware and software architectures. These tools not only include additions to Yocto and the boot system, but also relate to the integration of hardware-based Trusted Platform Modules (TPM). TPMs are special security chips that protect cryptographic keys and sensitive data.
