AI-supported warehouse automation

Reesink Logistic Solutions (RLS), a provider of automated warehouse solutions, and Stuttgart-based technology company Sereact have entered into a strategic partnership. The aim of the collaboration is to take robot-assisted article handling to a new level using artificial intelligence.

By integrating Sereact 's AI systems into the RLS solution portfolio, customers will benefit from even more flexible and future-proof automation solutions in the future, according to the company.

Sereact's AI solutions are used specifically in inbound and outbound processes. In incoming goods, they automate the storage of small parts via bin-to-bin handling or item putaway, while in outgoing goods they pick individual items precisely and error-free for dispatch. The AI recognizes objects visually, makes context-based decisions on optimal handling and implements them completely autonomously - regardless of product type, shape or position in the container. "Flexible article handling with AI is the ideal addition to our portfolio. It can be seamlessly integrated and gives our customers easy access to scalable automation - especially in times of staff shortages, increasing cost pressure and growing process diversity," explains Machiel van den Hazelkamp, Chief Commercial Officer at Reesink Logistic Solutions.

Autonomous systems for dynamic processes

Sereact's technology is based on a vision-language-action model (VLAM). It combines visual information with linguistic and physical context and enables zero-shot reasoning - i.e. the autonomous recognition and handling of unknown objects without prior training. This makes the system particularly suitable for dynamic warehouse environments in which traditional automation solutions reach their limits.

With 'Embodied AI', Sereact enables robots not only to analyze, but also to physically act: they interact independently with their environment and take on tasks that were previously reserved for manual intervention. The aim is to replace physical work where processes are repetitive, stressful or inefficient. "Our technology thinks for itself - and adapts where other systems fail," says Ralf Gulde, co-founder and CEO of Sereact.

AI for overview and quality: Sereact Lens

The portfolio is complemented by the 'Sereact Lens' AI model, which ensures transparency in inventory management. The solution recognizes and analyses items, packaging statuses and quantities in real time. It is suitable for inventory control, counting, item classification and quality inspection, for example - both at goods receipt and in returns management or picking inspection.
