Bosch Rexroth wins Hermes Award
Bosch Rexroth was presented with the prestigious HERMES AWARD at the opening ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE. The award was presented by Bettina Stark-Watzinger, Federal Minister of Education and Research, in the presence of Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This year, the jury, chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, honored a product for the dynamic robotics market. The nominated project Smart Flex Effector is a sensor-supported compensation module (end effector) for robots with independent, precise kinematics in six degrees of freedom. It can be used for handling or joining processes with tight tolerances in automation technology or robotics with loads of up to 6 kg. The position of workpieces or handling objects can be sensed by robots with Smart Flex Effector. It can be used for a wide range of applications, as it is also suitable for human-robot collaboration as an add-on device for various robots. It can be used for handling or joining processes with tight tolerances in automation technology or robotics with loads of up to 6 kg. The position of objects can be sensed by robots with Smart Flex Effector. "Close human-robot interaction plays a central role in solving pressing [...] challenges: from optimizing industrial assembly and increasing productivity in agriculture to supporting medical and nursing staff. The Smart Flex Effector drives forward the efficiency and diversity of robot applications and thus generates measurable added value for industry, the environment and society. This is the third time that the HERMES AWARD has gone to Bosch Rexroth. Congratulations on this excellent achievement," says Prof. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and Chairman of the HERMES AWARD jury. This is HANNOVER MESSE's international technology prize and is awarded annually during the trade fair. It recognizes products and solutions with a particularly high degree of innovation.
