Barnes Group takes over Gimatic
The American Barnes Group, a provider of highly engineered products and solutions for industry and aviation, has announced the acquisition of Gimatic, an Italian supplier of components and system solutions for automation and handling.
The Barnes Group, based in Connecticut, was founded in 1857 and serves the transportation, communications and manufacturing industries, among others, with its solutions. Founded in 1985, Gimatic S.r.l. develops and manufactures pneumatic and mechatronic components and system solutions for end customers and suppliers. The grippers, linear technology and sensors are used in the automotive, plastics, electronics, food, pharmaceutical and medical technology industries. The company has a sales network in Europe, North America and Asia.
