Automated surface treatments are now possible even for small batch sizes: with the ACF kit from FerRobotics, surface treatment for small and very small series can be automated easily and economically. Cobots now take over complex manual and unhealthy grinding and polishing tasks, while at the same time increasing quality and precision.

The company is committed to the idea of equipping robots with a sense of contact. According to the robot experts, a robot works more precisely, safely and economically when it automatically approaches a surface at the moment of contact. With Active Compliant Technology, the company has now succeeded in equipping robots with the tactile sensitivity and precise contact force required for guaranteed process reliability.

Automated grinding, polishing and deburring

The Linz-based company specializes in activities such as grinding, polishing and deburring. While it is unreasonable to expect the employee to process a workpiece with constant force over a long period of time, the robot now does this effortlessly. The range of end-of-arm systems keeps the presettable contact force constant and adapts to even complex surfaces. All device components, including the suction system, are coordinated with each other and optimized for the respective machining process.

Automation for small batch sizes

The latest addition to the ACF product range includes a selection of end devices for surface processing and is suitable for almost all shapes and materials. Thanks to their modular design, the versatile and user-friendly plug & play tools can be converted in a matter of moments and used for various applications such as grinding, polishing, brushing and deburring.
