Acquisition
Neura Robotics takes over ek robotics
ek robotics, manufacturer of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), has found a new owner in Neura Robotics. This secures the company's long-term future.
In Neura Robotics, a pioneer in the field of cognitive robotics, ek robotics believes it is gaining a partner that will set the course for the further development of intelligent, autonomous logistics solutions and open up new opportunities for customers, partners and employees.
"With Neura Robotics, we are gaining a partner that complements our business with innovative strength and offers us new, exciting prospects. For our employees, customers and suppliers, this is a clear signal: ek robotics remains a strong player in intralogistics," explains Andreas Lindemann, Managing Director of ek robotics.
Neura Robotics also emphasizes the importance of the partnership: "The acquisition of ek robotics is far more than just a purchase: it is a departure into a new dimension of mobile robotics. Together, we will combine existing strengths with our product portfolios, bring innovations to the market faster and create a global offering that sets standards. We not only want to continue ek robotics' products, but also make them the global benchmark again with new energy and new ideas. This is a benefit for customers, for our partners and for all employees. It is also a strong signal that Germany and Europe have the ambition to be at the forefront of this largest market of the future," says David Reger, CEO of Neura Robotics.
The takeover is the result of the debtor-in-possession restructuring proceedings, in which intensive work has been carried out in recent weeks to find a viable solution.
As part of the transaction, the company will operate under the name Neura Mobile Robotics in future. The established ek robotics brand will be retained as an independent brand and will continue to be present on the market. Operational responsibility will continue to lie with Andreas Lindemann, who will lead the company into the future in his role as Managing Director. The business operations of ek robotics will continue without restriction. All existing customer and supplier relationships will be continued and all services are permanently secured. In addition to the German company, the subsidiaries in England, Italy and the Czech Republic are also part of the transaction - they were not affected by the proceedings.
ek robotics currently employs around 300 people at five locations worldwide and generated sales of around 60 million euros in the 2024 financial year.
Neura Robotics was founded in 2019 by David Reger to usher in the age of cognitive robotics. Today, Neura employs more than 700 people.
