Partnership agreement with Israel Innovation Authority

Against the backdrop of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany, the Israel Innovation Authority and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft have jointly signed a declaration on the promotion of technological innovation.

The aim of the partnership is to strengthen cooperation in key technological sectors and drive forward joint research and development initiatives. The agreement underlines the intention of both sides to facilitate cooperation between Israeli and German companies both bilaterally and within various R&D framework programs such as Horizon Europe. The joint initiative is intended to drive innovation and strengthen economic ties and reflects the mutual commitment to technological progress.

Dror Bin, CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, said: "The cooperation between the Israel Innovation Authority and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft brings together Israel's dynamic technology ecosystem and Germany's outstanding expertise in applied research. By combining our respective strengths, we aim to accelerate the development of breakthrough innovations to address global challenges. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to advancing cutting-edge technologies that will not only benefit our respective economies, but also improve the lives of people around the world."

Holger Hanselka, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, explained: "In today's world, ideas and innovations - in addition to a thirst for research and inventiveness - are more important than ever. We are facing major challenges that we can only master if we pool our expertise. The ability to innovate is the most important resource of our two countries and enables the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice. The partnership we have now entered into is a decisive step towards strengthening technology cooperation and promoting a dynamic ecosystem for companies and researchers."
