The e-light 4G family from eks Engel consists of four robust switches that support Gigabit Ethernet and are only 30 mm wide.In addition to a device with eight electrical ports (10/100/1000 BASE-TX), three versions with additional optical ports (1000 Base-FX) are available in the combinations 8TX/2FX and 4TX/2FX as well as 6TX/2FX with slots for SFP modules (Small Form-factor Pluggable). Single and multimode transceivers enable transmission distances of up to 100 km. DIP switches can be used to activate alarms for all ports, which are signaled via LEDs and can be queried via an error relay contact. Switches with additional configuration or management functions, which can be accessed via a web-based user interface, are available on request. The four switches operate in a temperature range from -40 to +70 °C and comply with all relevant EMC standards. Their stainless steel housing measures 155 mm × 30 mm × 101 mm (H×W×D). The optical versions support BiDi technology, which allows data to be transmitted in two directions over just one fiber via an SC connector. Variants with E2000 connection technology are also available. The electrical ports have sockets for RJ45 plugs.
