At the end of February, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made way for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the embedded world 2019 stands.
The 2.83-inch (7.19 cm) industrial TFT WF0283ATDAJDNN0 from Winstar, presented by SE Spezial-Electronic, is suitable for indoor and outdoor use in very bright environments. The display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels is based on transflective display technology. As the ambient light contributes to the display with this technology, the display is still very easy to read even in direct sunlight without particularly bright backlighting, according to the supplier. If the brightness is sufficient, the backlight can even be switched off completely. In contrast to conventional transmissive displays, the contrast also increases with increasing brightness. A backlight with a luminance of up to 500 cd/m² is available for operation at low brightness. The display, which is equipped with a TFT driver HX8367-A with internal frame buffer, is controlled via a parallel 8/16-bit microcontroller, a serial 3-/4-wire or a 9/18-bit RGB interface. The typical operating voltage for the TFT is 2.8 V, the IO level can vary between 1.65 V and 3.3 V. The LED voltage of the backlight is specified as typically 3 V.
