Fully integrated LiFi technology
Getac has integrated LiFi technology into its rugged devices as part of an innovation project.
Getac is working closely with Signify, a lighting company, and their 'Trulifi' technology. LiFi (Light Fidelity) technology uses light for data transmission and not radio frequencies, as is the case with technologies such as WiFi, LTE, 4G and 5G. According to the provider, the advantages of this approach over RF-based technologies include extremely low latency times, improved privacy and security as well as better connection quality, especially in environments where RF use is not possible or not permitted.
