Reliably connect CAN FD with Profinet
At Embedded World, esd electronics is presenting the latest addition to its Profinet gateway family in the form of a variant for CAN FD.
Like the entire family, the CAN-PN/2-FD gateway is based on the 'Sitara AM4377' CPU. It acts as a Profinet IO device and connects CAN FD devices with Profinet controllers. The gateway works with a maximum of 1440 bytes of input and output process data on the Profinet IO bus. On the CAN side, the esd electronics gateway behaves like a normal bus node, so that CAN FD and Classic CAN frames can be transferred from any CAN network to the Profinet side. To analyze the CAN bus and detect configuration errors, users can use CANreal and other free esd CAN tools to take a 'live' look at the CAN bus via the USB interface.
