Helmholz
Profinet or Gigabit Ethernet of your choice
The use of Profinet with 100 Mbit/s or Gigabit Ethernet does not have to be mutually exclusive when implementing industrial machine networks, as Helmholz demonstrates with the 'Flextra Profinet switch'.
The Helmholz switch provides both communication options. Depending on the application and project, the user can decide which ports are to be used for Gigabit Ethernet and which for Profinet. This makes the switch suitable for Profinet traffic as well as for communication between control elements and various machines. In addition to Profinet, the switch supports other management functions such as MRP (ring redundancy), VLAN (virtual LANs), SNMP, port mirroring, QoS/CoS mapping, SNTP and extensive statistics.
With its vertical cable access, the switch is also suitable for the smallest control cabinets and sub-distribution boards. The Ethernet cables are routed directly from the switch into the cable duct. The design is completed by an LED display on the front of the switch for clear status and diagnostic information. The switch is designed for DIN rail mounting and can be easily integrated into the network. Once plugged in, it is immediately ready for operation via Plug & Play. The tool-free push-in connection for the power supply supports the installation.
