MicroControl at the SPS 2025

Inka Krischke,

New analog input modules

MicroControl is launching the next generation of compact analog input modules. The new modules are µCAN.4.ai-BOX for voltage/current, µCAN.4.sg-BOX for strain gauge sensors and µCAN.4.ti-BOX for temperature sensors.

The new µCAN-BOX generation uses low-noise 24-bit A/D converters; all variants are available with either two or four A/D converters. CANopen (CiA 301), CANopen FD (CiA 1301), SAE J1939 and manufacturer-specific raw CAN communication are supported on all modules. The tightly screwed aluminum housing meets IP66, the electronics are designed for ambient temperatures from -40 to +85 °C. With regard to the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the provider relies on a secure boot chain: the boot loader only accepts cryptographically signed firmware and verifies integrity and authenticity before execution and before each update.
The µCAN.4.ai-BOX is suitable for precise voltage and current measurements, the µCAN.4.sg-BOX is designed for strain gauge applications, and the µCAN.4.ti-BOX focuses on temperature measurement with RTDs and thermocouples.
