Metz Connect has added devices with Bacnet and Modbus protocols to the Ewio-9180 Ethernet Web I/O and Ewio-9180-M Open Smart Metering Gateway device family. The two devices Ewio-9180-Bacnet and Ewio-9180-Modbus for automation allow the Ethernet Web-I/O to be integrated into the Bacnet/IP and Modbus-TCP network environments. The devices each integrate a Bacnet or Modbus server that connects the digital or analog signals from the sensor/actuator level to a Bacnet/IP or Modbus TCP network. Various Bacnet/Modbus functions can therefore be implemented via a higher-level management system or via a client for various automation tasks. Additional external I/O modules can be seamlessly connected to the devices via jumper plugs. The metering series of the Ewio-9180-M product family is suitable for determining, recording and regularly checking energy performance indicators and for automation services. This family is also being expanded to include two devices for the Bacnet and Modbus protocols. The metering devices also each have an integrated Bacnet or Modbus server, which connects the sensor/actuator signals to the Bacnet/IP or Modbus TCP network. In addition, the devices enable the automatic reading of meter data on the M-Bus and Modbus for energy consumption monitoring and energy monitoring in buildings, machines, plants and systems.
