CompactLogix controllers from Rockwell

Molex, LLC offers two seamlessly integrated Modbus modules for Rockwell Automation 'CompactLogix' controllers. The two universal Modbus modules enable these controllers to be connected - even simultaneously - to any Modbus/TCP or serial Modbus network via the same module. The first module is a standard version (SST-ERS2-CPX-S), the second is a plus version (SST-ESR2-CPX-P), which supports extended addressing of up to 30,000 I/O words and up to 256 Modbus commands per port. Two independent RS232/RS422/RS485 serial ports support ASCII and RTU formats and can be configured as Modbus masters and/or Modbus slaves. The software automatically determines whether the Modbus message is RS232, RS422 or RS485, eliminating the risk of incorrectly set DIP switches. In addition, each module has an Ethernet port (independent of the Ethernet port of the 'CompactLogix' system) that executes the Modbus TCP protocol. Alternatively, the Ethernet port on the modules can be used as an additional configuration and troubleshooting option.
