Dr. Sebastian Durst becomes CEO

The Weidmüller Group is strengthening its first management level as of October 1, 2024: Dr. Sebastian Durst, previously Chief Operations Officer, will take over the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Dr. Durst has been with Weidmüller since 2015 after ten years as a management consultant. Christian Gläsel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the family-owned company, is delighted: "With Dr. Durst, we have been able to gain an expert from our own ranks for the role of CEO, who will powerfully drive forward the successful transformation of Weidmüller." Dr. Christian von Toll, previously responsible for the sales business in the DACH region, will be appointed to the Executive Board and assume the position of Chief Sales Officer (CSO). Dr. Timo Berger, previously CSO and previously in various technology functions, will take on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will accelerate the market-oriented development of products and solutions. André Sombecki remains Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Volker Bibelhausen, Spokesman of the Executive Board, CTO and also responsible for Operations until March 2023, will leave the company by mutual agreement.
