Uncertainties in the German and European energy market caused a decline in orders in the Fossil Power Generation division of the Energy sector. However, these were offset by double-digit growth in the other divisions. Order intake and sales in the Healthcare sector were almost on a par with the previous year. The Infrastructure & Cities sector benefited in particular from the major Thameslink order for the Rail Systems division in the third quarter. With a volume of three billion euros, the order is the largest that Siemens has ever won in the UK.
